West Zambia is home to the majestic Ngonye Falls – second in splendour only to Victoria Falls – and the Sioma Ngwezi National Park, which is an important migratory route for thousands of elephants. Not surprisingly, the main attraction is the mighty Zambezi River, and one can find some truly magical hideaways in this region. There is also Luiwa Plain National Park, which is located in the far west – a truly untouched area of abundant game and wildlife, famous for its masses of wildebeest during their migration. This area can be difficult to explore, but a few operators offer adventure trips into this area.
