About Botswana
Botswana is a vast country within southern Africa, known for its hot, dry climate, with the exception of the lush oasis of the Okavango delta in the north – reputedly one of the most beautiful places in the world. Largely off the beaten track, Botswana is a haven for wildlife and, especially, elephants. With its unspoilt wildernesses and promise of adventure, Botswana is one of the last remaining safari destinations in Africa where you can experience nature as the early explorers did.
- Botswana's Okavango delta is probably the most famous, and certainly the most spectacular floodplain in the world.
- Chobe National Park is the second largest national park in Botswana and famous for its elephants and habitat variety.
- Moremi Game Reserve is a spectacular game reserve in the Okavango delta, with a superb diversity of wildlife living amidst mopani and acacia forests, floodplains and lagoons.
- The Kalahari is a place of golden plains, searing heat and exceptional wildlife diversity. After the rains, a mass migration of antelope takes place here.

Okavango Delta
The Okavango delta of the Republic of Botswana is the world’s largest inland delta. A 15 000km2 maze of lagoons, channels, and islands has helped the Okavango River earn its description as ‘the river that never finds the sea’. This huge wetland, surrounded by the Kalahari desert, is a unique ecosystem with large populations of African mammals, birds and other animals.
- The largest inland delta in the world, creating a lush, verdant wetland. This unique area contains 95 per cent of all surface water in Botswana
- The Moremi Game Reserve and its surrounding area are often the focal points of safaris in the Okavango delta. The reserve includes the habitats of both the permanently and seasonally flooded zones
- A mokoro trip is a must for every visitor to the delta. A mokoro is a traditional dugout canoe made from a large straight tree, and is punted by a boatman. It is ideally suited as transport in the delta as it moves quietly through the shallow water
- Exceptional species diversity of game and birds
